By the time you reach 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, the way you look will definitely depend on how you have taken care of yourself.
1. Avoid The Sun!
It is true that you need a little sunshine to get vitamin D. But, spending too much time in the sun, without protection, will prematurely age you. Age spots, wrinkles, and other skin discolorations are results of sun damage and make you look older. Non-Chemical sun block is a must! Spa 10 supplies our clients with endless amounts of Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen, SPF 30 and Pressed Power Mineral Makeup SPF 20.
2. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!
We need all the help we can get to maintain a healthy and glowing skin as we age. So even if you eat tons of anti-oxidant rich foods and drink lots of water, these are still not enough to promote supple and youthful looking skin. You must use moisturizers and other skin care products to help maintain healthy young looking skin. Contact any one of Spa 10’s Estheticians and we will be happy to provide you with a complimentary product consultation to be sure you have an anti-aging home regime that’s appropriate for your skin type.
3. Avoid Stress!
Emotional upheavals can make your skin look 5 years older than your chronological age, says New York City dermatologist and psychiatrist Amy Wechsler, MD, author of The Mind-Beauty Connection. Constant anxiety increases the stress hormone cortisol, which causes inflammation that breaks down collagen. It also triggers a chain of responses that can lead to facial redness and acne flare-ups. I have been taking a supplement called Holy Basil that has really helped to regulate my stress levels.
*Note – I am not a Dr. so please consult with your health care provider before taking any supplement.
